R4Questions
TDC, PDC, LTMS: the short answers.
What the LTO asks of a new driver, how many hours, who sends the certificate, and how you can see your own log.
Questions students ask
Still unsure? Call a branch or send an enrollment request and the registrar will call you.
The Theoretical Driving Course is 15 hours of classroom instruction on road rules, signs, safe driving and your duties as a driver. The LTO requires it before it issues a student permit, so it is the first stop for every new driver.
We run it in the classroom over two days. Each session is logged: your time in and time out are recorded, and only the time you were actually in class counts toward the 15 hours.
The Practical Driving Course is at least 8 hours of driving with an accredited instructor, for each licence code you apply for. For a car or any light or heavy vehicle the 8 hours must be spread over at least two days. A motorcycle course may finish in one day if the instructor judges you ready.
You drive a training car with an instructor's brake (dual control). The instructor starts and ends every lesson on their phone, so your hours are the real time you drove.
We do. When you finish a course, the school transmits your TDC or PDC certificate to your LTMS account electronically, through the LTO's portal for driving schools. You do not carry a paper certificate to the LTO office. You can see each certificate and whether it has been sent in your student portal.
No. A certificate is issued only when the lesson log shows the full hours, and for a car the required number of days. Our system refuses the certificate until then, and it records every attempt. Schools that issued certificates without lessons were suspended and closed by the LTO in 2025 and 2026; we would rather lose a sale than your licence.
Open the student portal, type the e-mail you enrolled with, and enter the one-time code we send you. You will see your TDC and PDC hours as a road with kilometre posts, your next lesson, your balance, your installments, your receipts and your certificates.
Our courses cover the codes listed on the Courses page, most often A (motorcycle) and B (cars and light vehicles up to 5,000 kg and 8 seats). Each PDC is for one code; if you want two codes you take a PDC for each.
Either, but if you learn and take your practical test in an automatic, your licence will be limited to automatic vehicles. If you may ever drive a manual, take the manual course. Each package on the Courses page says which transmission it uses.
Yes. Many packages can be paid in installments; the Courses page shows how many for each. Every payment gets an official receipt, and you can see what you have paid and what is left in the student portal.
Tell the branch as early as you can and we will move it. A lesson you miss without notice is marked as a no-show; it credits no hours, and the instructor and car are freed for another student.
